Bio Buddy is a biodiesel processor for the home that allows people the convenience of making their own clean fuel, without having to resort to huge and expensive industrial processors, or the dangerous method of constructing it themselves. I was focused on safety, self-sufficiency and usability of the device. My goal was to make the biodiesel process as simple as doing the laundry. The ingredients are poured into the top, and the bio buddy takes care of the rest through automated pumps and thermostats. A display informs the user of the current status of their biodiesel. A pull out tank collects the waste glycerin, which may be easily transported and disposed of or used for making soap. If waste vegetable oil is used, the cost of your biodiesel can be as low as 50 cents a gallon.
